On today’s show we have another edition of the Nature Almanac. This morning we’ll hear a piece in honor of this year’s winter solstice hike and the many songs and poems shared along the way.

Then, activists calling for increased regulation of the oil and gas industry are currently holding a rally in Denver to bring lawmaker’s attention to their cause, on this the first day of the Colorado legislative session. We’ll here from former State legislator and new executive director of the anti-fracking group Colorado Rising, Joe Salazar.

The Brink is a radio storytelling project produced by CU Boulder students in conjunction with KGNU where students explore what is needed to transition to a more just environment and society. Today we’ll hear a story on community regeneration and gentrification in one Denver neighborhood.
