In collaboration with KGNU’s Media Gardens program, representatives from the Lafayette Youth Advisory Commission (LYAC) produced a radio show featuring Lafayette’s 18th Annual Martin Luther King Celebration held at Angevine Middle School. For the 2023 MLK celebration, LYAC representatives: Suntali Donahue, Eliza Ciplet, and Emiliano de la Torre, recorded speeches and performances, scripted and voiced narratives, and set up a recording booth to interview the community during the event. This youth radio production showcases the social justice efforts, dedication to building cultures of belonging, and youth empowerment opportunities that are taking place in Lafayette.
