Local Bead Event Empowers Maasai Women

We know the Maasai people for their distinct culture. They live in Tanzania, a world-renowned place for its wildlife that draws lots of travelers. Maasai women, wrap themselves in their brightly-colored shúkas.

Angel Mollel is one of them: a Maasai. Angel now lives in Colorado and has been coming up with different projects to provide opportunities for education to children in her village. She is now empowering women by promoting their artsy bead craft.

KGNU’s Rossana Longo-Better spoke with Angel Mollel about the coming 2nd annual bead event happening this Saturday, June 4, in Westminster. For more information, you can go to 1loveorg.org
