Labor Exchange – Jamie Simpson TWU 556 flight attendant on the fight for their rights under Colorado law

On this episode of the Labor Exchange, we talk to flight attendant Jamie Simpson (TWU 556) about Southwest Airlines avoiding a massive fine under Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act in an agreement made without worker input that takes away flight attendants rights to paid time off under the new law.

TWU has filed a lawsuit against the settlement between Southwest and the State. Andrew Kenny with Colorado Public Radio broke the story last week: Southwest Airlines avoids $1.3 million fine as Colorado agrees not to investigate union’s paid leave complaints: https://www.cpr.org/2023/08/15/southwest-airlines-colorado-paid-leave-settlement/
