Songcraft: Songwriter Showcase with Jordan Yewey and Ramaya Soskin

October 3, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm MDT

Songcraft:
Songwriters are the architects of sonic emotion, crafting universes in three-minute masterpieces. They wield metaphors like paintbrushes, infuse stories with heartbeats, and turn silence into a canvas of resonance. In the grand amphitheater of musical creation, songwriters stand as the virtuoso architects, building bridges between hearts and harmonies, reminding us that life’s cadence is most vividly felt when painted with the ink of their genius. With the Songcraft Series, Christopher Morse and Ian Steele will bring local songwriters to Roots Music Project to share their craft and stories.

This month features:
Jordan Yewey:
Jordan Yewey is a singer-songwriter and is well known for her boisterous vocals and engaging acoustic sets. A Colorado native, she has been writing and playing guitar since the age of 8 and performing as long as she can remember. She’s been compared to the likes of Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert based both on her voice and songwriting style.

Ramaya Soskin:
Blending echoes of Iron & Wine, Jeff Buckley and Ryan Adams”, the music of Ramaya Soskin has captured the imagination of listeners with uniquely soothing cinematic songs. A veteran of the Boulder / Denver music scene, he’s performed at venues such as Red Rocks, the Fillmore, and the Boulder Theater. As a former member of Gregory Alan Isakov’s band he toured with artists such as Nathaniel Rateliff, Glen Hansard and Brandi Carlile throughout the US and Europe. Founder and curator of a monthly local songwriters showcase called Troubadours (15+ years), he is also a music mentor to young aspiring artists. With touching tales of love, loss & illumination, a sonic Hero’s Journey, his music holds a mirror to the heart.
