Seicento Baroque Ensemble presents “Embellish!” in performances juxtaposing the vital role of improvisation and ornamentation as it developed in the 17th century and persists in today’s jazz music. These concerts tie in workshops presented Feb. 29 and March 2 at venues across the Front Range. Concert selections range from the American Song Book to Monteverdi. Performers include the 36-voice Seicento choir, early music and improvisational specialist Dr. Tina Chancey, the Denver-based Mark Diamond Trio, and three of this year’s apprentice artists advancing their professional careers through Seicento’s 4-month baroque vocal performance studies program. Evanne Browne, Artistic Director.
