Protests after proposed changes to Jeffco schools history curriculum

Last Friday, two schools in Jefferson County closed when not enough teachers came in to work.  Teachers called in sick or took personal days and students rallied in support of teachers and opposing possible changes to the history curriculum.  These actions seem to be the culmination of months of frustration with the Jefferson County School board.  Nicolas Garcia, a reporter with Chalkbeat.org, an education focused news website has been following goings on in Jefferson County.
