Humans Vs. Zombies at Fairview High in Boulder

It’s almost Halloween – a time for witches, ghosts, and “Zombies.”  Zombies are best known as the walking dead in horror movies, or by the zoned out face of someone playing video games.  But Zombies are gaining a livelier status in a modern game of tag.  Humans vs. Zombies began a decade ago at Maryland’s Goucher College.  Its creators post free rules on line and fans now play around the world, making sure their weapons are obvious toys, meaning brightly colored nerf guns and foam darts.  While it’s often a college game, Humans vs Zombies is also the inspiration for a popular, and sanctioned, after school club at Fairview High in Boulder.  KGNU’s Shelley Schlender reports.
