Homeless Students in Denver Public Schools

It is estimated that 1 in 36 students in Denver Public Schools will experience homelessness at some point this school year. Matt Tillson with the Homeless Education Network which provides services for these students, says that number is on the rise. Maeve Conran spoke with Tillson, the HEN community liaison.
“We have a lot of theories about that. In general homelessness increased in Denver this year.  A lot of that has been due to the cost of living increase and the shortage of affordable housing in Denver.”
