Home Rule Status for Boulder County

The Boulder County Commissioners recently voters to extend the moratorium on fracking in the country until 2018.  Despite that, efforts are still underway to give the county a home rule charter which proponents say will help residents of Boulder County control what happens within the county. Mary Smith with the Boulder County Community Rights Network, the group working to get a Home Rule Charter established in Boulder County says that she was hugely relieved when the County Commissioners extended the moratorium, but she says they are still pushing to get enough signatures for a ballot initiative on home rule
