Denver Water is proposing to expand Gross Reservoir in Boulder County to increase storage capacity. The reservoir expansion and the Moffat tunnel would bring more water from the Fraser River to the Front Range. The expansion has been met with opposition by local residents and water conservationists. We host a panel discussion featuring Chris Garre of The Environmental Group and Matt Rice with American Rivers who oppose the expansion.
Mely Whiting of Trout Unlimited is also a guest. Trout Unlimited originally opposed the expansion saying it would be detrimental to the Frasier River. Earlier this year TU reached an agreement an agreement with Denver Water that will lead to what is being termed a Mitigation and Enhancement Coordination Plan for the Frasier River.
Dave Little, Director of Planning with Denver Water will also join the panel.
