Good Guys Behaving Badly: Veterans Helping Veterans

“I did get in trouble and I faced alcoholism and addiction, from other circumstances as well, but it cost me some trouble with the law, a divorce and things like that.”

Cody Nichols served in the US Navy from 2000-2004. He says he’s now on the right track after having a rough few years after leaving the military. Cody credits Veterans Helping Veterans Now with helping turn his life around.

The Longmont based organization was founded to offer a helping hand from one veteran to another to deal with many of the issues facing the community… from PTSD to addiction problems.  They offer support groups, educational programs and a jail visitation program.  The organization was founded by a veteran who, after finding himself in and out of jail, realized there was a need for more support for veterans returning from duty.
