Flashback 40! MLK Day Coverage on KGNU

As part of our monthly look at four decades of programming on KGNU, we dip into our archives to hear coverage of Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations in years gone by. KGNU’s Shareef Aleem also joins us to talk about civil rights issues and MLK celebrations in Denver in recent years.

You can hear Flashback 40 on the third and fifth Monday of every month at 8.35am.  The theme song for this series is the Gnu Suite by Kenny Wheeler featuring Keith Jarrett, which was the first thing to be played on KGNU when it launched on May 22, 1978.
