In February 2017, a new movement was launched: Draft Bernie for a People’s Party. The goal is to gather enough signatures to present to Bernie Sanders on the 1 year anniversary of the 2016 DNC meeting, and to convince him to lead a new People’s Party.
We speak with Nick Brana, Founder of Draft Bernie for a People’s Party, and the former National Political Outreach Coordinator with Bernie 2016 and former Electoral Manager with Our Revolution. He says the campaign aims to channel the enthusiasm generated by the Sanders campaign into building a new political party. “This party will offer new progressive electoral choices and strive to enact the people-first platform that so many supported during the Sanders campaign.”
Marie Adams who is based in Boulder joined us live in the studio. Adams is part of the National Organization Team of the Draft Bernie Campaign, which officially launched in February.
