Dr. Howie Wolf grew up in a small Iowa town, where his father was the only doctor. After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, he interned at the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital in Galveston, TX, and then served two years in the US Navy. Dr. Wolf then practiced more than 53 years in Colorado, primarily in Boulder County.
In the 1970s he was instrumental in the founding of Clinica Campesina where he was the affordable health clinic’s first medical director. Throughout his medical career, he has been an outspoken advocate for universal health care. He writes about his life as a family doctor in his new book: I Really Didn’t Want to Become a Doctor: Tales and Musings from a Family Doc Retired After 50-Plus Years. Royalties from the book sales will be going to Clinica Family Health Services. Find out more here.
