Do you know who I am? is a critically acclaimed production by MOTUS theater. It’s a series of monologues written and performed by immigrants, very personal stories. Recently they got local enforcement involved in a special performance of the monologues, but instead of the immigrants reading the stories, they read the stories. A film screening of the law enforcement reading the monologues happens in Lafayette on Thursday April 26th. It will be followed by a Q and A with two of the participants – immigrant rights advocate Victor Galvan who was brought to the US as a baby, and Rick Bashor, the Lafayette Chief of Police. In this performance, Bashor reads Galvan’s monologue.
Listen to Victor Galvan speak about having a law enforcement officer read his monologue and the challenges facing immigrants right now.
