Denver Post workers protest hedge fund owners

On Friday June 17th about 100 members of the Denver Post’s labor union and community allies rallied outside the newspaper’s Denver office, to bring attention to The Post’s parent company, Digital First Media, and its primary hedge fund owner, Alden Global Capital.

Denver Post ProtestIn April, DFM offered 26 buyout packages to newsroom staff.  The deadline to accept the buyouts was last Thursday, June 16.

Denver Post reporter Kieran Nicholson, the elected chair of the newsroom’s union addressed the crowd.
