Denver Decides: Kalyn Rose Heffernan – Mayoral Candidate

Denver Decides is a series on KGNU featuring city council and mayoral candidate forums as well as discussions on ballot measures facing Denver voters in the May 2019 municipal elections.

Kalyn Rose Heffernan first got into the Denver mayoral race a year ago as an April fools joke but that quickly transformed into her leading Denver’s first disabled artist / activist campaign for the Denver’s mayor seat 2019.

Kalyn was born and raised in the Denver metro area where she has been advocating for herself and other marginalized, vulnerable communities most of her life. She fronts the internationally acclaimed band Wheelchair Sports Camp and represents the DIY (Do It Yourself) arts scene in the city and across the country.

You can hear Denver Decides on Sundays from 6-7pm, Thursdays from 3-3.30pm and every other Tuesday 3-3.30pm throughout the month of April
