“Conviction” at the Dairy Arts Center Explores Faith, Oppression and Love

The Dairy Arts Center and Maya Productions presents CONVICTION, an award-winning play based on a prisoner file, dating all the way back to the Spanish Inquisition. It sheds light on the struggle to keep faith and identity under extreme oppression. This iteration of Conviction is a thrilling one-man show which is a dramatic blending of a profound history lesson and a no less profound love story, rooted in true events. After every show, the Dairy Arts Center will host a discussion about the topics of faith, oppression, xenophobia and other important topics, featuring members of the Boulder community and beyond.

KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo spoke with Ami Dayan, Artistic Director for Maya Productions, and the featured actor in this remarkable one man show. Ami begins by talking about the historical basis for Conviction.
