Aurora Proclamation - Grita Tu identidad KGNU News
Feb. 7, at a behavioral health conference in Aurora, the city issued a proclamation declaring the day to be “Grita tu Identidad” or “shout your identity” day. Aurora’s Mayor Pro Tem says the city wants to show support during a time of fear.
Alison Coombs, Aurora’s Mayor Pro Tem, said at the conference, “ We want to make sure that folks know that in this moment of fear, when people are worried about ICE, when they do not trust the government to keep them safe, that we are here to do everything that we can to support the Latino community.”
The Aurora City Council and Coombs made it clear that they strive to aid their community during uncertain and dangerous times.
