Proponents of public banking gathered in Denver recently for a day long conference. One of the speakers was Nomi Prins, author of “All the Presidents of Bankers”, who said the big six banks have grown in asset size by 42% since the financial crisis. Prins says that during that time their stockpile of cash has quadrupled in size. The conference drew people working towards public banking around the country. 20 states have introduced bills to form public owned banks. Joe Richey brings us this report.
