Remember how at the height of the pandemic a shortage of semiconductor chips locked up the auto manufacturing supply chain? Well, it certainly got the attention of the federal government.
Last year, the U.S. Congress passed a bill known as the CHIPS and Science Act. It invests billions of dollars into bringing semiconductor research and development and manufacturing back to the United States. Much of those funds will be coming to Colorado and its high concentration of federal research laboratories. News Director Shannon Young has more.
