There’s a new bipartisan bill set to be introduced in the legislature later this month about cell phones. If passed, all Colorado school districts would be required to adopt a cellphone policy for students, with rules for how and when they can use phones in school.

Boulder’s been ahead of the curve on this one – Boulder Valley School District already has its own cell phone ban in place. It’s left some students frustrated, with a lack of clarity about how the ban is implemented and what the consequences are if they do take their phone out on campus.

KGNU’s Grace Maruska has been closely following the cell phone ban story, including the recent local implementation of the ban. Grace joined KGNU’s Jackie Sedley live-in studio to tell us what she’s heard.
