On today’s Radio Nibbles, KGNU’s John Lehndorff talks about Boulder’s history of natural foods, from tofu to granola.

Lehndorff will host the Tales of Tofu Town event on March 30 at the Museum of Boulder, with natural foods pioneers Sheldon Romer of Rudi’s Organic Bakery and Mark Retzloff, co-founder of Alfalfa’s Markets and Aurora Organic Dairy.

Joining them is Steve Hoffman, founder of Compass Natural and former Editorial Director of Natural Foods Merchandiser magazine.

In local food news, The Lowdown is open at 2731 Iris Avenue, the former site of Murphy’s and The Local.

Slow Food Boulder County and the Lafayette Farmers Market are hosting the final CSA Fair of the year, from 11 am – 2 pm, on March 29 inside the cafeteria at Lafayette’s Pioneer Elementary School. East County farms will be on hand, offering multiple sizes of weekly produce boxes. Details can be found at slowfoodboulder.org
