Booktalk:  Donald Ray Pollock and “The Heavenly Table”

In Don’s third highly acclaimed book, it’s 1917 and the three Jewett brothers—Cane, Cob and Chimney—set off from their rural southern home for a life of crime.  The author’s atmospheric sometimes violent books are often compared to the best of the southern gothic novels.

This program originally aired on July 29, 2016.  Don, who grew up in Knockemstiff, Ohio, is currently writing away on the next book in his regular writing space, the garden shed in his backyard.
