For the August edition of Black Talk, Michele Simpson sits down with Dr. Alana Morales after her first year as Principal of Boulder High School to hear about her experiences in a new role, school, and community as a Black women principal in a predominantly white city.
The discussion touches on a lot on mental health as Boulder High School has survived several student suicides, the sudden and tragic death of a long-time teacher, and, canceled classes this past February due to unconfirmed reports of a possible active shooter on campus.
