In honor of KGNU’s 45th anniversary, volunteer, we are airing audio stored in a dusty audio archive closet that, for the most part, no one has heard in decades. In the first episode of From the Archives to the Air, we hear recordings from KGNU’s first broadcast and then, two years later, when the station went dark. The audio captures the idealism that initially created the station and how those ideas evolved into something that continues to thrive today.
