Anne Waldman is an internationally recognized and acclaimed poet who has been an active member of the “Outrider” experimental poetry community – a culture she has helped create and nurture for over four decades as writer, editor, teacher and performer.
Her poetry is recognized in the lineage of Whitman and Ginsberg. She co-founded with Allen Ginsberg the celebrated Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder which is hosting its annual Summer Writing Program June 12 – July 9, 2016.
Waldman is the author of over 40 books and collections of poetry and her latest collection of poems is Voice’s Daughter of a Heart Yet To Be Born in which she appropriates the idea of Blake’s unborn spirit of Thel to explore artists’ and activists’ roles during the Anthropocene.
