Thomas Linzey of the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund joined us live for a call-in show on community rights approach to regulating and banning fracking and other industrial activities in communities. Linzey wrote a scathing commentary in the Colorado Statesman criticizing the deal brokered by Governor John Hickenlooper and Congressman Jared Polis on oil and gas ballot initiatives.

On January 9th 2014 KGNU’s Jim Pullen hosted a panel discussion on different approaches that communities are taking toward oil and gas activity. Guests included Cliff Wilmeng with the Colorado Community Rights Network, Kevin Lynch with the Environmental Law Clinic at the University of Denver Sturm College Law, defense attorney for Longmont in the lawsuit against the city over its ban on fracking.
