KGNU’s Rossana Longo Better sat down with Dr. Rajagopalan Balaji, a University of Colorado Boulder professor of civil engineering and an expert in hydrology, climatology, and water resources, to discuss what he calls the “sobering and humbling reality” of drought and the impossible demands we are placing on the Colorado River.

This past weekend, Colorado and the other six western states that depend on the Colorado River missed a deadline for the second time to agree on a plan addressing record drought and water shortages.
