E-bike and e-motorbike ridership is on the rise…and so are the injuries and accidents — A Public Affair KGNU News

Host Sam Fuqua talks with Sergeant Scott, a Boulder police officer, and with Peter Piccolo, the head of Bicycle Colorado, a statewide advocacy group, about safety on e-bikes and e-scooters. They discuss different classes of e-bikes, illegal modifications of e-bikes, the importance of being safe while riding, and whether minors should have access to e-bikes/e-scooters.

Piccolo says that one solution to safe e-bike riding for minors is that “parents need to be informed and engaged. E-bikes are not a toy.” They should be thought of as motor vehicles.
