This past weekend at a Cinco de Mayo celebration in Longmont, Colorado, Mayor Susie Hidalgo-Fahring took a quick pause from the festivities for a conversation with KGNU’s Tim Russo about representation and visibility for Latinos in our community.

The Mayor said, “ For me, this is a very important event because I’m Chicana and my dad was a farm worker back in the 40s and 50s.”

Russo and Mayor Hidalgo-Fahring discuss the contributions of immigrants and the importance of community this Cinco de Mayo and every day.
