Join us for a live broadcast of the Afternoon Sound Alternative from Paradise Found Records on Thursday, August 28th from noon – 3pm.
Uncle Jeff is bringing in his LP stash of Cow Girl Boy and Bear Family Records to fill out the show.
In his words: “There is a whole area of 30s 40s & 50s Country, Western, Honky Tonk and jazz where the artists are lost to time. For some reason the Germans have preserved American music from old 78 way better than any American record labels… The Cow Girl Boy “white label” features over 150 LPs of radio transcriptions and rare 78 from this period by artists like Ferlin Husky, Foy Willing, Floyd Tillman & Tex Williams, to name just a few.”
Uncle Jeff is planning to feature a couple of tracks from the best of these artists, similar to the days of the old radio show Route 78 West. Come and hear old Americana, back when the Plymouth’s had big round fenders & the jukebox was king.
