Affordable housing takes a front seat on the state’s docket

Judy Amabile is a state representative for House District 49 – which includes Boulder, Clear Creek, Gilpin and Larimer Counties. She’s running for Colorado Senate District 18 in this year’s election.

Representative Amabile has served in Colorado’s General Assembly since 2020, and has sponsored a wide array of bills over the past few years. They’ve included measures to increase mental health resources and gun safety, reform the criminal justice system, and – as of just a few weeks ago – improve access to affordable housing.

She joined KGNU’s Jackie Sedley for the Morning Magazine to discuss the latter – House Bill 24-1152, on Accessory Dwelling Units.
