Since 1979 they have provided safety and support to victims of domestic violence. Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence recognizes that to end domestic violence we must also work to end other forms of injustice and oppression that affect women’s lives. Staff members and Speaker’s Bureau volunteers are available to give presentations to community groups and organizations throughout Boulder and Broomfield counties. Scleroderma is a chronic connective tissue disease generally classified as an autoimmune disease. The Scleroderma Foundation’s mission includes support for patients and their families, promoting public awareness and education, and research to improve treatment and ultimately cure scleroderma and related diseases. Colorado Humane Society
February 6th, 2012They assist the Colorado Bureau of Animal Protection and local law enforcement in handling companion animal abuse and neglect cases. Project Safeguard

Project Safeguard’s goal is to aid all victims of domestic abuse seeking protection through the civil legal system by providing legal advocacy and assistance clinics, court support, and intervention services. Helping Hands Monkey Helpers
January 31st, 2012They are the only nonprofit organization in the world that raises and trains capuchin monkeys to provide daily in-home assistance for people with spinal cord injuries and other mobility impairments. Helping Hands raises and trains monkeys to act as live-in companions who provide independence, companionship, dignity, and hope to the people they help over the course of 20-30 years. Through the generous support of donors and volunteers, their monkeys are placed at no cost with disabled individuals and their families. Wildearth Guardians
January 26th, 2012Wolves were eradicated from the American West by the mid-1900s at the behest of the livestock industry. Science now tells us that wolves are critical to the health of the landscapes that they inhabit. WildEarth Guardians uses a variety of tools, including policy advocacy, public education and litigation to advance the cause of weaving wolves back into the heart of the American West. Last April, Congress eliminated federal protection for wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains. Idaho and Montana immediately set hunting seasons on this endangered animal. The result is that 410 wolves killed by sport hunters this winter alone. However less than 1,300 wolves live in those two states. Now Hollywood is inciting terror instead of instilling awe for this beautiful and charismatic creature. Wendy Keefover explains to host Nikki Kayser about the dangers of the new anti-wolf film called “The Grey”.
