Angela Palermo interviews writer, teacher and queer activist Aimee Herman.

Aimee’s young adult novel Everything Grows was published by Three Rooms Press in 2019. They’ve also
written two full length books of poetry, “meant to wake up feeling” and “to go without blinking.”
Aimee has been widely published in journals and anthologies including BOMB, cream city
review, and Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics. They have also run
various writing workshops on memoir, narrative poetry, sex positivity and the body. Aimee
presently teaches English at Boulder’s Saturday School and Skyline High School in Longmont.
Aimee has performed at poetry festivals and with their poetry band Hydrogen Junkbox.
