Worldwide Knit in Public Day is this upcoming Saturday, June 8. It’s the largest knitter-run event in the world. It started in 2005, and is celebrated around the world – including here in Colorado. Longmont Yarn Shoppe owner Gail Sundberg-Douse is a very active member of the knitting community, and is hosting a knit in public booth this weekend at the Estes Park Wool Market. That events It runs from 9-5 on Saturday, June 8, and 9-4 on Sunday. The Longmont Yarn Shoppe will have a booth where all can come and knit or do other stitching activities. KGNU’s Jackie Sedley chatted with Sundberg-Douse earlier this week about the event, and the importance of knitting from her perspective.
