What Can We Do Now?

What Can We Do Now? Strategies and Solutions at the Local and State Level is a panel discussion happening on Thursday February 15th at the Alliance Center in Denver

The discussion will focus on how to maintain and accelerate progress toward creating a more sustainable world, starting at the local level. Bill Becker, Executive Director of the Presidential Climate Action Project will moderate the discussion. Becker says that states and localities are still the leaders on climate and energy. “That’s been the case for several years – at least the past 8, where the federal government has reneged on its responsibility to deal with some of these issues.”

Panelists include David Orr, the Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics and senior adviser to the president of Oberlin College; Governor Bill Ritter, founder and director of the Center for the New Energy Economy (CNEE) at Colorado State University, and Maggie Fox, former President and CEO of The Climate Reality Project.
