The Impact of Lithium Mining on Water in the American West

The growth in electric vehicle production is fueling demand for the rare metal at the heart of EV batteries: lithium.  A new report examines the impact of lithium mining on water in the American West.  “Lithium Liabilities” was produced by the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at Arizona State University.  We spoke with two of the journalists who contributed to the report: Morgan Casey and Joshua Shimkus.
