Food Insecurity Worsens for Older Adults in Boulder County

For “Radio Nibbles,” host John Lehndorff talks regional food insecurity with Lark Rambo and Katie Wiser. Lark is the Executive Director of Coal Creek Meals on Wheels, and Katie is Development & Communications Director of the Longmont Meals on Wheels.

Older adults are also known as the “Hidden Hungry.” Unlike students, adults cannot go to school for their meals, and organizations often have to actively search for the adults that need help. Food insecurity has only worsened in recent months following the rollback of pandemic-era SNAP benefits and decreases in donations.
