The Brink: Place-Based Learning Takes School Outside

A climate crisis is looming over the youngest generation and today’s education models are just starting to grapple with how to teach kids about their changing world. One model is called “place-based learning” and it fosters a connection between youth and nature, making them purposefully aware of their surroundings. Riley Hooper and Kari Myers have this story for The Brink series; a collaboration between KGNU and Environmental Studies students at CU Boulder.
