Studying Food Waste in Boulder

Rhonda Hoenigman is an instructor at CU Boulder in the Department of Computer Science. She and a colleague had done some research into food waste in Boulder. They created a proposal for a food waste audit which the city of Boulder accepted. She is now one of the main researchers in a city wide food waste audit targeting grocery stores and restaurants.  The audit plans to gather data from grocery stores for 4 to 6 months before publishing their results with a view to helping reduce the amount of food that is thrown out by grocery stores and restaurants.
