Queer soldiers went overseas to fight for their country. A new play follows the fights they faced upon return

There’s so many stories of persecution and resilience that have been lost to history, covered by voices of people in power who have sought to erase marginalized groups – and continue to try and silence those same individuals.

A new play in Boulder seeks to dig into some of that history. Stockade is a play about LGBTQ+ World War II veterans, and the trials and tribulations they faced during a time where queerness was even less tolerated. It’s running until October 13 at the Dairy Arts Center.

Stockade playwright Andrew Rosendorf and director Christy Montour-Larson joined KGNU’s Jackie Sedley to discuss the play.
