Source Theatre Company Honors Tradition of African American Theater This Sunday

The Source Theatre Company in Denver is celebrating a legacy of over 40 years of African American theater in the Denver area with the 4th Annual Celebrate African American Theatre Day. It’ll be Sunday, June 18th at 3 p.m. at the Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center in Denver. This celebration honors the companies that paved the way for the Source and to recognize the Source Theatre Company as a leading theatrical community dedicated to capturing, honoring and celebrating the African American experience. There’ll be food, music, poetry, performances and more! Earlier, KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo spoke to several founders of Source Theatre Company about their time with preceding groups like the Eulipions, and the Shadow Theater, and why it’s important to honor this milestone.
