“Social Security Works”

“Social Security has transformed the nation. 1 out of 4 households receive social security and 2/3 of seniors rely on social security for half or more of their income, so it’s a vitally important program for the American people.”

Nancy Altman tells KGNU’s Claudia Cragg that there has been a lot of fear mongering around the viability of the social security system. In her new book “Social Security Works” Altman argues that if social security is not strengthened, future generations will be worse off. But she says there is a long running campaign to undermine confidence in the system.
