Dr. Karim Mattar and Micol Bez. Dr. Mattar is an associate professor at CU, Boulder, and a descendant of survivors of the Palestinian Nakba of 1948 He is currently at work on two book projects. The Ethics of Affiliation: Palestine and the Future of Humanism, and Writing the Catastrophe: Trauma and Responsibility Across Generations.
Micol Bez is a double doctoral student in comparative literary studies and philosophy, and is an elected member of student government at Northwestern University in Chicago. She has taught and studied internationally, and at Northwestern has been involved in efforts to bring about awareness of Palestine, and in resistance to mandatory “antisemitism” trainings that present a distorted view of Israel and Palestine and promote erasure of the Palestinian people.
