Seicento Baroque Ensemble Brings Landmark Performance to Colorado with Bach’s, “St. John Passion”

The Seicento Baroque Ensemble will be hosting a landmark performance of Bach’s masterwork the St. John Passion the first weekend of May. Performances will be in Arvada on May 5th, Denver on May 6th and in Boulder May 7th. Not only will the choir perform the Passion using the methods and tools that were authentic to the baroque era, but Artistic Director Evanne Browne has gone to extreme lengths to bring in authentic Baroque instruments and performers who would have been at home performing on the Baroque stage. This commitment to the authenticity of the performance is part of Seicento’s mission, and earlier, KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo had an opportunity to speak with Evanne Browne about her history with and love of Baroque music.
