Rooibos tea: Naturally KGNU News
On this week’s Naturally, KGNU’s resident herbalist, Brigitte Mars, talks about rooibos: the nutrient-rich, dried herb tea with no caffeine content.
“It’s considered a rejuvenative and cardioprotective,” said Mars. “It’s used as a medicinal tea for allergies, anemia, asthma, depression, eczema, fever, headache, so many things, nausea. It is just a plethora of nutrients. Think betacarotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, copper, natural fluorine.”
Rooibos has a flavor profile similar to Camellia sinensis, but is caffeine-free and safe for children.
Naturally airs every Wednesday on the Morning Magazine, KGNU’s weekday morning show with coverage of local and regional news with headlines and commentary. Click here to listen to full episodes of the Morning Magazine.
