“Road To Change” Gun Reform Forum

On Friday, July 13th at the Shorter Community African Methodist Episcopal church in Denver, gun safety advocates from Colorado, relatives of those who died in the Columbine and Sandy Hook shootings, and student activists from the March for Our Lives national tour spoke before hundreds of people, discussing their own thoughts on how to take short and long-term action against gun violence.

Among hundreds of locals, there were rows and rows of students dressed in red, showing their support and involvement.

They examined gun violence through the lenses of community healing and shared their own personal stories related to gun violence.

Speakers also explained their goals for the March For Our Lives tour, including plans to get as many people registered to vote as possible.

Many of the voices at the forum were anti-NRA community members, expressing their concerns and discussing how to combat the pro-gun legislation supported by the NRA. The forum ended with an audience-student Q &A..
