Refugees Are Front & Center During Ramadan This Year In Colorado

This year the Muslim holy month of Ramadan is overlapping with the Catholic period of Lent. It’s also taking place during a significant refugee crisis. Some of those now fleeing Ukraine fled from Afghanistan not long ago.

KGNU’s Rossana Longo-Better spoke with Dr. Carroll Watkins Ali, Director of Muslim Family Services about the significance of Ramadan and how Colorado’s Muslim community is weaving a safety net to receive incoming refugees.
